GANDIA:
Gandia is one of the largest cities in the area and has been a hotspot for Spanish tourists (mainly from Madrid) for years, but is becoming more popular with foreign visitors as its charms become better known.Gandia Playa (Beach) offers 5.8 kilometres of beautiful blue flag beaches, Gandia’s beaches are truly magnificent as these have a width of 150 meters with beautiful sand - lots of space!. Gandia Playa is also home to the areas nightclubs and disco bars. There is also beach dedicated to dogs.

SHOPPING in Gandia:
Most of Gandia's city centre is full with palm tree promenades with bars, restaurants and shops along, it is a wonderful place for a shopping tour. Gandia has all the shops expected of a city, indoor shopping complexes with cinemas, Calle Major and streets off have around 800 different shops.
Just a 10 minute drive away from Villa La Palma - on the outskirts of Gandia are all major supermarkets (Mercadona, Carrefour, Lidl or Aldi just to name a few). Gandia also has a variety of markets throughout the year. There is a typical market on Saturday mornings at the bottom of the Paseo.

PLACES OF INTEREST in Gandia: The city was an important commercial and cultural centre during the 15th and 16th centuries and has been home to many important poets and writers including Joanot Martorell. However, it is possibly best known for the Borgia family, who were an infamous prominent noble family during the Renaissance. In Gandia you will find fantastic examples of Spain’s history.

RESTAURANTS in Gandia:There are many very good restaurants available in Gandia. A typical dish of the region is fideuà where noodles substitute rice and are cooked with fish and shellfish. There are two local restaurants/bars with genuine Spanish food walking distance from the villa.

BEACHES of Gandia: Gandia has many beaches 11 km to choose from, the sand is golden and the sea is beautiful and clear they have been awarded BLUE FLAG status for many years.

Towns close by:
- OLIVA: A little bit to the south of Gandia you find the city of Oliva (20 minutes) with an old town centre. If you are looking for less busy beaches you will find these here. Oliva is where the Spanish go on holiday and is even less touristy and the beaches are never very busy. Terranova beach in Oliva is one of our favourites, long with soft white sand and not crowded at all.
- JAVEA:This town has a good beach front but is a bit more 'touristy'. If you want to eat Fish& Chips you will find it here.
- DENIA (30 minutes): This is a very pretty town with lovely shops and cafes on tree lined streets.
- VALENCIA (50 minutes): Short drive away. Suggest you visit the town centre. There are many shops museums and churches. Aquarium the Bioparc - a sort of zoo meets safari park but really well laid out and not a cage in sight.

OTHER PLACES TO VISIT: Vergel Safari Park, Mundomar Sea World,Terra Mittica Theme Park or Aqualandia Water Park. These are all around 45- 60 min by car.

GOLF: Three golf courses that are around 30 min drive away:
- La Sella: 27 holes and near Denia
- Club de golf Oliva Nova: 18 holes and near Gandia
- La Galiana Camp de gold: 18 holes and near Gandia.

ACTVITIES:
- Walking, hiking and climbing are three great activities in this area, beautiful mountain walks. A great place if you have pets and enjoy the countryside way of life.
- Cycling is another big activity in Spain with plenty of cycle routes in and around the region. The area around the villa is popular with mountain bikers.
- Water Sports there is a huge selection of beaches to choose from, Daimus, Grau de Gandia are the closest beaches, jet skiing, wind surfing, dinghy sailing from the marina, kite surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking basically anything you can think of is just 15 minutes' drive away.

We were absolutely positively stunned by the house/Location. We knew the area before but the location & house was even better than expected. Highly recommended!

Gem of a property. We booked this house to get some Autumn sunshine and chill...and it did not disappoint. Great location, clean, very well equipped - a real home away from home. It was made extra special when the Spanish neighbour gave us kilos of ripe figs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

We booked this villa for a climbing vacation and definitely were not disappointed. A lot of space, modern and clean, pool, sun-beds, BBQ, 2 Car-Ports. Perfect! Everything worked out just fine.

We spent a month here in January 2017. It is a lovely four bedroomed villa set on a hillside overlooking Orange groves, accessed via a track through orange trees. The house was well equipped with everything you could need for a holiday and was a real home from home. The accommodation is all on the first floor, with the ground floor being utilised as a games room and a second TV room. The resort of Gandia is about fifteen minutes away and has a stunning beach which our two dogs loved. There are lots of restaurants and bars in the Resort and also bars on the beach to chill out in. Great place for a holiday.

We really enjoyed 3 weeks at the villa over Christmas 2016. It is a lovely spot surrounded by thousands of orange groves and is peaceful and quiet. The games room downstairs was fab for entertaining the kids and we certainly felt at home here.

Great location, lots of privacy and peace and a great villa!! Villa La Palma is an oasis of peace and quiet, in the middle of nature. We did not know that it could get so dark at night. You have a lot of privacy with a beautiful view of the valley with lime and mandarin trees in the front. At the back there is really only forest. The villa itself is practically furnished and offers many opportunities to relax. There is of course a lot of sun but even if you do not want to "bake" there are no less than 4 parasols and "seats" where you can sit. If you want to go to the beach despite the fantastic pool then Gandia and Oliva are the places to be, if you are looking for a more quiet beach then go to Xeraco.

It’s a beautiful house in a very quiet area. In the house you have everything you need to feel right at home. In short, a perfect location if you like peace and have access to a car because that is a must in this area. Thanks for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful home.

I have spent the months of January and February in this beautiful villa. The house is equipped with everything your heart desires. The building is in a quiet at a dead end on a small hill and offers a great view. The seaside resorts Gandia and Denia with their beautiful sandy beaches are easily reached by car and the city of Valencia is no more than one hour’s drive away and well worth a trip. I would stay here again.

The House is amazing (and big for just the two of us) Jeroen was very kind to communicate with, and everything was easy to use and accessible. The view is lovely. And the beach nearby. Many thanks for the last minute booking. Just what we needed!

A magnificent house. Superbly equipped, lacking nothing, lots of space, the garden is to full flowers, plants and an abundance of bushes. Not to mention the swimming pool and all the equipment that came with it, parasols, etc… If you want a great holiday just outside Gandia then this is the place to go.

The villa is great. The neighbourhood is peaceful and extremely quiet. You will be surrounded by orange trees and have a wonderful view on mountains. The renting experience was fantastic. A welcome pack was waiting for us in the fridge. What a surprise ! The house is fully equipped. Nothing was missing beddings, towels, dishes, dvd player, games… The pool is big 5×10 and has everything that can go with it : deckchairs, sun umbrellas, mattress, air mattress, toys. We can’t make a list of all that this villa is offering but to make it short : everything you need is in the house ! Don’t hesitate to rent this villa !!!! We really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely outstanding Villa and outstanding location we were overwhelmed at how lovely the Villa was, the pool, the peace and quiet and not to mention the outstanding views. This Villa is ideal for a family or couple and so close to Gandia for when you want to go out. The welcome pack also saved the day as we arrived after a 5hr journey from the south of Spain, thank you an I will certainly book again if I am staying in the area, first class!

Our family have stayed here in August in 2002 and every year since 2004. It is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet (except for fiesta days which are quite common and very exciting). The swimming pool is well maintained and is a good size for a holiday pool and the kitchen has everything you need (apart from plastic glasses for drinking by the pool). The local bar, Bar Carril (1km) is very welcoming, particularly if you attempt some Spanish. The other villas are owned by Spanish families and we have found the family next door very welcoming even though they do not speak any English.

The villa was absolutely ideal for a family with at least 1 member who enjoys driving in Europe. We had the best family holiday any of us can remember. We had 3 generations present and all needs and aspirations were catered for. The pool is superb, the views either from there or when dining on the verandah were breathtaking and the villa itself is very well equipped. Apart from food shopping and going to reasonably closely located restaurants and bars it is very easy just to stay all the time in this superb location. I take my family on holiday every year to a villa somewhere in Europe. This is the fourth year Ive done this and La Palma is Numero Uno by miles. Thank you for a fantastic holiday..well be back and thats a promise.

The villa was fantastic, the pictures dont do it justice. The views were lovely and we all had a enjoyable holiday. There are a couple of bars which can be reached by a 10 min + walk but everything else we needed the car for.

La Palma was a fantastic villa. The owner had thought of everything to make visitors comfortable – all the comforts of home and more! There is a large living area and kitchen with a wonderful naya overlooking the valley of orange groves. The welcome pack was very necessary as we arrived late on Saturday night and no shops were open on Sunday. Poolside there are plenty of beds, patios in both sun and shade and parasols. The villa is in a rural position about a 15 minute run in the car from the Gandia beach (closer to Gandia town) so if you want to be near the beach this is not the villa for you. However, if you want peace, tranquility and a fabulous holiday – then this is the one for you! The beaches in the area are all fantastic with blue flags. Have fun if you chose this villa – we did!
